Originally based in the town centre, the market relocated to its current site in 1962 to better serve a growing rural clientele.
The mart operates two sale days each week, attracting buyers and sellers from across the North West. Its wide range of regular sales includes dairy cattle, store cattle, beef cattle, calves, sheep and lambs.
